The discussion of 2013 budget project in PAP have shown that it is unacceptable, announced PAP MP, deputy head of economic parliamentary committee Michael Melqumyan in the meeting with journalists. He noted that this doesn’t mean that PAP is going to vote against budget and when necessary changes are made, PAP will decide what to do.
Melqumyan added that during last session PAP refrained from voting for the project of increasing minimum wage by 2500 AMD as 35 000 AMD is far from providing consumer box. To the observation why PAP voted for 32.500 AMD last year, Melqumyan answered that by that time there was a compromising policy, which must be excluded now. He added that poverty is increasing, demand needs to be encouraged, the tax burden must be made larger.
To the question of “First Armenian News and Analysis” what change does PAP expect to vote for the budget, Melqumyan replied that at least promises should be given.
