When Ter-Petrossian made statements on Nagorno-Karabakh issue and Armenia-Turkey relations noting that peace was a prerogative with Azerbaijan and same for Turkey with Genocide issue remaining out of the foreign political context, Robert Kocharyan and his team-mates blamed Ter-Petrossian in “friendship” with Turkey. Being the first to initiate this anti-Kocharyan propaganda in 2008 Kocharyan actually contributed to Ter-Petrossian’s movement.
Fact is Ter_petrossian reasoned his statements as based on the national/state interest. Though this is a separate talk since it’s questionable as of how adequate Ter-Petrossian’s reasoning was with the state interests. However, Ter-Petrossian acts same way now proposing a deal or cooperation to Prosperous Armenia Party and Robert Kocharyan indirectly. Thus Armenia’s first president makes a “friendship” proposal to whom the most severe criticism was addressed several years ago. Interesting is the fact that presently Kocharyan and his teammates not only do not criticize Ter-Petrossian but share words of praise related to the smartness of the first president.
This type of politics is usually called a “dirty” one. However, it should be noted that politics itself is no dirt but just a sphere of activity which helps to pop-up the dirt. It is the politics that needs to deal with the anti-politics existing in Armenia for already over 20 years.
