Movses Hakopyan, defense minister of NKR, had a press conference and commented on the statement made by Azerbaijani side concerning the airport located in Stepanakert, capital city of NKR.
We should recall that Azerbaijan threatened to destroy the civil airlines which will fly to or from Stepanakert airport.
According to Hakopyan, the threats coming from Azerbaijan are baseless.
“Of course they can do what they said but I must stress that in the same way NKR’s antiaircraft defense can destroy the planes headed to Baku. Unlike Azerbaijan , we don’t let us make such statements , since it is ridiculous and it is not good for a country to announce about such terrorism. I should note that this year we could have destroyed 2226 Azerbaijani planes by our antiaircraft but we didn’t do it since it is against our principles. When we start using our airport I will fly to Armenia by a plane and I’m sure that Azerbaijani side won’t dare to crash the plane” said Hakopyan.
