The coming presidential election in Armenia should become a landmark for the people and the government. Armenia is standing in front of the crossroads, either development or destruction and chaos. In the interview with “First News and Analyses” said France’s Strategic Research Foundation expert, politician Kayts Minasyan, who spoke of the importance of the 2013 presidential elections and challenges Armenia is facing.
Kayts Minasyan reminded that the incumbent president had promised, “we should believe in order to change.” According to him, there should be development, peace, change, and the fight against corruption, trends and new horizons in our society. Armenian-French political scientist predicted that if no such dynamics are created, there will be chaos, war, collapse, not in the state, but in the society.
“This election will be a turning point, if we take into account the fact that the regional problems have changed and external pressures are stronger. We have the issue of Syria, Persia, and already usual problem of Karabakh, Georgia and Russia. The year 2013 is important for the Caucasus, because the 3 countries should hold presidential elections.” – commented Kayts Minasian, considering the most important Armenian people’s ability to send a special messaget to the international community.
According to the Armenian-French, Armenians, as a nation, have something to say to this world, but they should catch the right direction, express the right word to create the inner confidence.
Thus, Kayts MInasyan noted that the presidential elections are important in the sense that there is trust between the state and the society, for which political forces are to solve the nation’s problems, not only pass laws.
“They have to work out and resolve the concerns of the people, i.e. people’s private and common problems. They should create an atmosphere of trust that people believe that there will be changes. People need to suppress political forces, saying that they would have their confidence if the problems are solved.”
