The head of “European Integration” NGO Karen Beqaryan stated that Armenia must be tougher in negotiations with Azerbaijan as he said during a press conference on “Recent developments of Nagorno-Karabakh regulation process”.
“Today we witness several events taking place in the heart of Europe that directly impact on Nagorno-Karabakh conflict including UK- Scotland relations, Spain-Catalonia processes.”- he said.
Referring to the NKR recognition by the largest Australian state, the speaker appreciated it, but said it’s not a solution for the problem.
On possible meeting of FMs of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Karen Beqaryan said they will possibly touch upon preparation of a meeting with presidents adding that Safarov issue must also be brought into plane of discussion.
“It’s possible that Armenian party puts forward the question that NKR needs more guarantees for security including legal aspect.”- he said.
Karen Beqaryan commented that Azerbaijan’s greatest hope was that Armenia will leave the negotiation process, thus gaining a chance to impact Minsk Group format.
