Political scientist Alexander Ikandaryan, director of “Caucasus Institute” today had a press conference and talked about Safarov’s case, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the upcoming meeting of MFs of Armenia and Azerbaijan.
According to him the Europe reacted to Safarov’s extradition not by condemning it, but in a quite different way.
“It is obvious that the Europeans shouldn’t accept the honoring since they are not Azeris, even though I should stress that there are some Azeries who also condemned the honoring of Safarov. I want to say that the resolution which was made by Czech parliament is very good for Armenia and very typical for European countries. As you know Nalbandian will visit Paris and will meet with his Azerbaijani counterpart and the co-chairs of ASCE Minsk Group. I’m sure that the co-chairs will do their best in order to continue the negotiations and give a solution to the conflict, even though it would be a very difficult task”, said Iskandaryan.
