The issue of sale of the 2nd building of City Hall was discussed 2 years ago. That was reported today, October 24, by the Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan at the briefing with reporters in the National Assembly.
“We had a discussion with the mayor already two years ago on what appearance would have the center of the capital. It is advisable to have another high-class hotel. Yerevan has serious problems when 2-3 international events are held; there is tension in the hotels. And the best place for investors for five-star hotels is in the centre of the capital. An investor was found, Mr. Eurnekian, who has agreed to make a good proposal for our state. On the one hand, it enables to improve conditions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ building, and on the other hand, to resolve the problem of the building of the Ministry of Justice. The deal was mutually beneficial, and a high-quality hotel will appear on the square and Mr. Eurnekian announced that there will be solutions that meet the cultural needs of our citizens,” said Sargsyan.
He also said that the National Assembly will held hearings on this issue.
