Many of those who studied abroad throw away their books when returning to Armenia, in order not to pay taxes for the very important professional literature, said “Heritage” faction deputy TevanPoghosyan at the government session in the National Assembly.
Minister of Finance VacheGabrielyan who answered one of the questions said that if it is related to personal books, it all depends on how many books and in what condition the books are.
“If we look from this aspect, import of books is also a business, which is a subject for taxation. It should be clarified to show the difference between the private old books and new bought books, “he said.
“We will try to clarify the appropriate direction, so that the people who bring their libraries from abroad to be distinguished from those, who bring new booksfor business,” promised the finance minister.
