The ministry’s press service reports that Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan received today Pole-Armenian writer, publicist, “Marmara” political newspaper editor, receiver of numerous awards, including the 2011 St. Mesrop Mashtot’s Medal Roper Hattechean.
Greatly appreciating the distinguished editor, who more than four decades is making great efforts to keep alive the daily newspaper in Constantinople, Minister Hakobyan noted that only due to such individuals one of the oldest communities in the Diaspora lives and maintains its Armenian spirit and character.
Congratulating Mr. Hattechean for the prize received at the 6th Conference of Diaspora media award, Mrs. Hakobyan stressed that from the very foundation of “Marmara” he has taken the responsibility to provide the community with the teaching of mother tongue and culture.
“We love you and we are ready to solve all the difficulties that arise in the course of activities,” added Minister of Diaspora.
Hattechean expressed his gratification for the welcome and care of the community and noted that it is a great impetus to the Diaspora communities.
