The official sources inform that Georgia’s Prime Minister-designate Bidzina Ivanishvili plans to quit politics entirely in just 18 months.
On October 24 in Kutaisi the Georgian billionaire-politician told lawmakers that after stepping down he would become “an active member of civil society.”
Ivanishvili was answering questions from President Mikheil Saakashvili’s minority United National Movement.
The businessman, whose Georgian Dream coalition won parliamentary elections on October 1, mentioned before the vote that he had no long-term political ambitions.
Recall that the Georgian parliament is planned to adopt the new government on October 25.
