According to Aharon Adibekyan, president of the “Socio-meter” sociological center, about 12 political units will participate in the upcoming presidential elections. However, Adibekyan stressed that the best oppositional candidate is Gagik Tsarukyan.
“There would be two sides in the election- those who will be nominated for just nothing and those that will support the oppositional candidate. So in this case it makes difficulties for the opposition. If they participate as a single unit the votes may not be enough but at least they must get votes in order to pass on the second stage of the elections, “said Adibekyan.
Adibekyan also said that due to the surveys he can advise the opposition what to do in order to have an equal election but he won’t do it so that nobody says he supports someone.
“It is still not clear whether the opposition will have a single candidate or not. Maybe they won’t have the single candidate until the second stage. According to the results, Tsarukyan has the 30 % of the public support and if other oppositional leaders support him he will at least have 45 %. Petrosyan doesn’t have so many supporters in order to participate as a single candidate. The only way is to support Tsarukyan.” Said Adibekyan.
