On October 23rd in the framework of official visit to Mexico RA FM Edward Nalbandyan has met with the first deputy of the head of MP Chamber Francisco Arroyo Vieira and discussed the issue of Nagorno Karabakh conflict, reports the press service of RA Foreign Ministry.
Edward Nalbandyan noted that the announcement made during the previous staff of MP Chamber has distorted the reality on the conflict and hurt the mutual relations, besides it contradicts the position of international public towards the issue, namely that of Minsk Group Co-chair.
The senior official of Mexican Parliament noted that he is aware of the negative results of the announcement and stressed that in-office Mexican MP Chamber supports the right of nations for self-determination.
Edward Nalbandyan welcomed the fact that Mexican foreign policy supports the offers made by OSCE Minsk Group on Karabakh issue and take efforts in this direction.
The minister expressed hope that newly-elected Mexican Parliament will take measures to develop relations with Armenia addressing the statement of RA NA president Hovik Abrahamyan.
Francisco Vieira informed that MP Chamber is going to get engaged in establishing relations with Armenian Parliament.
Armenian FM has also met with local Armenian community and presented main directions of RA foreign policy and the reforms undertaken in the country.
RA FM’s visit was highly covered by local mass media. After the visit Edward Nalbandyan left for Guatemala.
