Georgian media reports that Georgian nominee for energy minister Kakha Kaladze considers it possible to reduce tariffs for gas and fuel.
“According to our information, it is possible to reduce tariffs for gas and gasoline, although it is not only I who should make such a decision. After I am approved to the post, the ministry will start consultations,” said Kaladze.
He also stressed that the construction of small and medium hydropower plants will continue in the country.
“We will surely continue construction of small and medium HPPs, but we will hold consultations on major HPPs with the Ministry of Environmental Protection. All the agreements concerning small and medium HPPs will be also reviewed. It is very important to know to what extent state interests have been taken into account in these contracts”.
Note, the new government’s composition is scheduled to be approved on October 25.
