The additional power capacities of nearly 2,000 megawatts will be created in Azerbaijan as a result of implementing the projects envisaged for 2012-2015 , head of “Azerenergy” company (production and distribution of electricity in Azerbaijan) Etibar Pirverdiyev’s article, published in the newspaper Azerbaijan said on Saturday.
As Trend notes, It will be possible to increase the capacity of the power grid due to the construction of a 780-megawatt station Janub and hydroelectric power station Fuzuli with a capacity of 25 megawatts.
It is planned to construct the second 409-megawatt block of “Shimal” power plant, 385-megawatt “Boyukshor” power plant, “Lerik” station with a capacity of 16.5 megawatts and to reconstruct the Mingachevir and Varvara hydroelectric power stations according to the schedule.
