The pace of development of the EU’s relations with Armenia will depend on the quality of the upcoming presidential election. This was stated today on October 22 at a press conference head of the EU delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Traian Hristrea.
EU representative noted that the relations are developing in several directions, in particular, agreements on visa facilitation and back entry, negotiations over the creation of a free trade zone are continuing.
According to him, they are essential for development and are important for Armenia to continue the reform phase. For his part, the EU is supporting the Government of Armenia for transparent and democratic elections, providing 1.7 million Euros.
“The EU expects Armenia that the gaps in the OSCE ODIHR report will be notified and corrected. Armenia-EU cooperation pace depends on this. We expect that transparent and democratic elections will be held, “said Traian Hristrea.
