The head of International Relations Department of “The Robert Bosch Foundation” Karsten Vogel thinks that, despite the current crisis in the European Union, it will continue its active involvement in the neighboring regions.
Organized by German “Friedrich Neumann Foundation”, Karsten Vogel took part in their International Conference, and in the conversation with “Liberty” radio channel he said that overcoming financial problems will open new opportunities for Europe, which will allow confirming a stronger position in the world and offering new natured collaboration to interested states.
“I am sure if you look carefully throw cooperation with Europe you will many advantages for yourself. It is very important to understand. For example, the European Union is the largest economic unit in the world, with more than 500 million consumers. It is also important for Armenia because by co-operating with the European Union, your companies have access in the European market.” said Vogel.
According to Vogel, the EU’s involvement in the adjacent regions should not be concern for other centers of power, because Brussels is not going to hold their place. Referring to the EU’s relations with Armenia, Vogel highlighted the EU’s bilateral pre-agreements with Armenia on visa regime facilitation, which was held recently in Brussels. “Despite the crisis, the European Union will continue its active involvement in the neighboring regions,” concluded Vogel.
