Reacting to the Chakalov village population’s appeal to save the pulling down of the church, NA MP Karen Saribekyan has personally undertaken the sponsorship of the renovation of the church.
On October 20ththe primate Sepuh Archbishop Chuljyan re-anointed St. Mary church. Many churchmen were present at the ceremony as well as the deputy governor of Lori, MPs, Karen Saribekyan’s friends, guests from Yerevan, the head of Chkalov village, the school staff and many others. The Holy Father blessed the benefactor and all the villagers congratulating on the anointment of the church.
He expresses gratitude to many officials for presenting icons, carpets to the church.
