Head of “Azerenergy” company (production and distribution of electricity in Azerbaijan), Etibar Pirverdiyev, published an article in which was written that the additional power capacities of nearly 2,000 megawatts will be created in Azerbaijan as a result of implementing the projects envisaged for 2012-2015.
It is planned to construct the second 409-megawatt block of “Shimal” power plant, 385-megawatt “Boyukshor” power plant, “Lerik” station with a capacity of 16.5 megawatts and to reconstruct the Mingachevir and Varvara hydroelectric power stations according to the schedule.
Note, the company has more than 200 substations with a capacity of 500, 330, 220 and 110 kV, as well as six hydroelectric power stations and 13 thermoelectric power stations.
