Georgian media reports that Georgian Parliament approved David Usupashvili, represented by the winning parliamentary elections the opposition coalition “Georgian Dream” to the post of chairman of the supreme legislative body of the country.
For the approval of the Speaker of Parliament Usupashvili voted by secret ballot 88 members, against – 0.
Usupashvili addressed to the parliamentarians, thought of all his predecessors and thanked them for their work. However Usupashvili said that so far parliament has not emerged as a true representation of the people.
Lawyer David Usupashvili was born March 5, 1968. Since 2005 Usupashvili is chairman of the Republican Party.
