Iranian Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Mohsen Pak Ayin, during the International Building Exhibition, held in Baku, said that Iran will open new sea voyage for the transportation of passengers on the route between the port of Astara located in the province of Gilan and Baku International Sea Trade Port.
The ambassador noted that discussions over the expansion of relations were held in the frame of the exhibition and expressed hope that the agreements will be signed as a result of these discussions.
Note, previously, the two countries also held talks about full scale passenger transportation between the Azerbaijani and Iranian ports – Baku and Anzali.
Passenger transportation between the ports of Baku and Anzali worked for many years, and its activities were suspended since 1998. Agreement between the state structures has already been reached about the restoration of it activity.
