Azerbaijani sources report that the first foreign visit of Georgian Prime Minister-nominee Bidzina Ivanishvili will be to Brussels.
“I am convinced to pay my first visit to Europe,” Ivanishvili said after a meeting in Tbilisi with Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourghood Policy Štefan Füle.
Füle gave Bidzina Ivanishvili the invitation of European Commission President José Manuel Barroso to visit the EU headquarters.
Recall that Ivanishvili earlier stated that he intends to conduct his first visit to the U.S.
Parliamentary elections were held in Georgia on October 1, with the participation of about 14 parties and two political blocs.
The winning Georgian Dream coalition will receive 85 seats in the parliament, and the United National Movement, 65.
Ivanishvili intends to become prime minister.
