President Serzh Sargsyan met with members of the 19th Conference of the CIS education ministers.
Welcoming the guests, the President highlighted the role of the CIS for the member countries of the organization in the promotion and development of cooperation in various sectors. Serzh Sargsyan also stressed the importance of cooperation in the humanitarian sphere, indicating that the CIS member countries cooperated together for decades to create a legacy that should be carefully covered, maintained and multiplied.
The President noted that the education sector is under constant attention and care of the state, and considerable work is being done to improve the quality of education, to develop in conformity with the requirements of modern programs, and to encourage the best students of school and higher education institutions. The President talked with the participants of the meeting about the reforms implemented in the educational system, their results, still present problems and future plans.
The education sector officials of the CIS member states also stressed the importance of cooperation, emphasizing the need to develop common standards for the assessment of the education sector, to intensify the integration processes in the fields of science and education, to develop a unified approach to the contemporary needs, as well as carrying out competitions in education to encourage cooperation students and other measures.
