Galust Sahakyan, vice-president of the Republican party, today had a press-conference and talked about the announcement made by U.S. Ambassador to Armenia on Oskanian’s case.
“U.S Ambassador’s announcements were very suspicious for me. Why, for example, Ambassador of China or, I don’t know, Japanese Ambassador didn’t talk about the case, but the American Ambassador did? The most important is the way he talked about it was very suspicious to me. In his word he said that we blame Huntsman for transferring the money to Oskanian’s “Civilitas” account. Who has blamed Huntsman? We blame Oskanian for spending the money which was transferred for charitable actions. We thank Huntsman for transferring that much money, but who said that Oskanian could spend it the way he wanted. Huntsman should have suggested a project, and according to it, Oskanian should have spent the money,” said Sahakyan.
One of the journalists asked Sahakyan to comment whether he thinks Oskanian is a criminal or not.
“I hope he is not a criminal, since if it turns out to be so, it will mean that that we have been working with a criminal for over 10 years. Moreover, we are not saying he is a criminal, including General Prosecutor, no one can call him a criminal unless everything is not clear.”
