“First Armenian News and Analysis” had an interview with former mayor of Abovyan, ANC Abovyan branch head, member of Armenian National Movement Grigor Voskerchyan who views only Levon Ter-Petrosyan as ANC candidate in presidential elections.
Voskerchyan was asked whether ANC has lost its credit that of 2008 because of its loyalty towads PAP. “I am the head of Abovyan ANC branch, where PAP is especially powerfull, but I don’t see such inclination of ANC there. I don’t understand the exaggeration on that subject.”
To observation about the divisions in Congress, one branch of which is against supporting PAP candidate, the other part doesn’t exclude such possibility, the former mayor of Abovyan said: “I don’t mind that PAP supports our candidate, I mean Levon Ter-Petrosyan. I haven’t heard an ANC member to say he wants to support PAP candidate.”
Voskerchyan was asked to express ANM position on coming presidential elections. “Despite the recent developments I myself don’t see any political leader equal to Levon Ter-Petrosyan,who I will be ready to support.’
“First Armenian News and Analysis” noted that Levon Ter-Petrosyan still doubts, and ANC member Petros Makeuyan had once said that if the candidacy of Levon Ter-Petrosyan is not put forward, Nikol Pashinyan is likely to reflect on running his candidacy. To this observation the politician replied: “I am not oriented on such view. And for realizing our aims I see no better candidate than Levon Ter-Petrosyan.
