Новости-Грузия shares that Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili and the parliamentary election-winning “Georgian Dream” party leader, PM candidate of Georgia Bidzina Ivanishvili were guided by state interests while passing the rule putting aside the disagreements.
This was said by the Commissioner responsible for enlargement and European neighbourhood policy Štefan Füle in a joint press conference with EU commissioner general on foreign policy Helga Schmidt in Tbilisi.
“Georgian leaders ensured that the power transmission passes easily. President Mikheil Saakashvili and PM candidate Bidzina Ivanishvili have put aside disagreements and are guided by state interests. We welcome this fact. EU is hopeful that they will continue constructive policy.
The fact how Saakashvili and Ivanishvili will cope with each other furtherly will point to what degree democracy has advanced in Georgia. EU will welcome further European integration of Georgia.”
