Azerbaijan’s permanent representative to UN, Agshin Mehtiyev, has addressed a letter to UN Secretary General Ban ki-Moon, concerning the issue of the airport located in NKR.
According to Mehtiyef is it illegal to make flights in Artsakh Air Company.
“Armenians want to make flights in Artsakh Airport, which is forbidden. I urge UN to solve this issue. This action is against European principles and it will put tension in the region. ”
Note, the mentioned Airport was built in Stepanakert (capital city of NKR) in 1974. Back in 1992 is stopped working and in 2008 the reconstruction works started.
Bako Sahakyan, president of NKR, announced that the airport is ready for the flights but the exact date of the first flights hasn’t been yet announced.
