On October 17, Mikheil Saakashvili, president of Georgia, made a speech at the 21st Congress of the European Nation’s Party, and said that Georgia will have a complete Democracy when the government will once again change via free and fair elections
.
Saakashvili said that in a few days there will be a peaceful transition of power in Georgia and a new parliamentary majority will hold the political power.
“The peaceful transition of the power is a unique occasion for both our country and the region, since such occasions have never happened in the past. As I have already mentioned we have done a lot of steps in order to become a democratic country, but I must stress that we still don’t have a complete democracy and in order to have it, the government must change once again in this same way,” said Saakashvilli.
As reported, in his speech he talked about NATO integration, and stressed that Georgia must do everything possible in order to become NATO member.
