Today RA minister of education and science Armen Ashotayn has received OSCE representatives of tolerance affairs Andrew Beiker, Adil Akhmetov, Catherine Guiness. During the meeting education issues of ethnic minorities, namely their integration in educational system were discussed.
The press service of the ministry informs to “First Aremnian News and Analysis” that A. Ashotyan represented the programs executed by the ministry addressing ethnic minorities. “. We are well aware of what ethnic minority means and imagine the importance of solving the problems of ethnic and religious minorities, because many Armenians themselves comprise ethnic minorities in many countries.”- said the minister.
Referring to the education of Armenian ethnic minorities, the minister noted that the teaching of mother tongue of ethnic minorities is included in state schooling system.
Besides there exist scholarships for the representatives of ethnic minorities in RA higher eduacational institutions.
“No schooling initiative represented by ethnic minorities was refused.”- said A. Ashotyan adding that RA ministry of education and science will cooperate with international organizations and with local NGOs on the issues of ethnic minorities.
