Rustavi-2″TV company today reported that the vast majority of ministers in the Georgian current government were living only on salary. They had to take bank loans, thus they owe debts to the banks, Acting Prime Minister Vano Merabishvili said.
Vano Merabishvili was selected as Secretary General of the United National Movement which defeated in the parliamentary elections. “These people have been taking loans for many years,” Merabishvili said. “After the government resigned, they have no new jobs, but I am sure that they will find something within a year.”
Merabishvili said that it is a time when the ministers go without taking anything from the state budget.
“This testifies to the fact that we reserve more than two million lari in the state budget for the future government,” he said. “This has never happened before as there was always an empty treasury and big debts after the previous government.”
Merabishvili thanked the ministers because they have selflessly served the country.
