Former MFA of NKR, Arman Meliqyan, had a press-conference and talked about the Armenian opposition.
According to him Armenian opposition is breaking apart step-by-step because of the conflict which exists between “Heritage” party and “Free Democrats” party.
Meliqyan noted that nowadays the only party which can go against the authorities is PAP but he also stressed that a year later PAP signed an agreement that it would support Serzh Sargsyan (current president of Armenia) in the upcoming presidential elections and it hadn’t announced yet any other options.
Former MFA said that the political parties which were opposition in the last elections, have already accepted their loss against the authority and are leaving the political field step by step.
“I want to stress that PAP is not yet considered to be an oppositional power. Yes it did get out of the coalition which was made between Republicans but still they hadn’t announced that they are opposition. The current authorities must have a great opponent whom the people can rely on and give their votes. The current so called opposition can’t “fight” with the government; they must choose a single candidate in order to win the elections.” stressed Meliqyan.
