Environmental Public Alliance supported the idea on Minister of Environmental Protection Aram Harutyunyan’s resignation. 48 members have joined the announcement of the alliance, except the president of “For Sustainable Human Development” organization Karine Danielyan and the president of “Pyramid” Arman Vermishyan. In particular, the statement of the alliance says:
“Environmental Public Alliance, referring to the poaching in Khosrov reserve forest expresses its frustration and anger on irresponsible attitude of the Ministry of Environment. A month ago, Environment Minister Mr. Harutyunyan gave verbal command not to allow anyone to enter the reserve without his private allowance, but after a month we found out this criminal case of poaching. Taking into account the above mentioned we demand Mr.Harutyunyan to resign, and express our concern on the appointment of the new one. The Minister should be non-partisan, professionally trained and be experienced in the field of environmental protection. During the election of Environment Minister they must take into account public opinion.”
