In the world women tend to believe in just elections less than men. This is proved by Gallup’s inquiry realized in 125 countries in 2011.
In each country Gallup realized questionnaire among 1000 people. It turned out that 46% of women and 48% of men believe in just elections.
The trust in just elections is higher in developed countries.
The main gap between the answers of men and women are found in Malta, Portugal and France. In these countries the difference is up to 15-16%.
In countries with higher income women are more incredulous. Whereas in countries with less income there is no actual difference between the viewpoints of men and women.
Armenia is included in the trio of the most incredulous countries. The least trust is in Haiti, 7% of women and 12% of men. Then comes Mongolia. Armenia is the third where 13% of women believe in just elections, men comprise 12%.
Georgian women believe in elections to 41% degree, men to 44% degree. In Azerbaijan the estimates are 54% women and 58% men.
Gallup notes that high trust estimates in autocratic countries may be predetermined by the atmosphere of awe.
The report notes that democracy level and women’s inclusion in governments don’t affect the trust in elections. For example in democratic Sweden, where women’s inclusion in government is 45%, the women trusting the elections are less than men by 14%.
