Today, on October 11th Slovakia’s supreme court delegation headed by the president Stefan Harabin visited Tsitsernakaberd monument, where they put flowers on the memorial of the victims of Genocide. Then the delegation visited the Museum of Armenian Genocide.
In the interview with journalists Stefan Harabin said that respects human life and prefers peaceful resolution of any issue. “No one can forget what happened, the blood of innocent people. The committee of human rights of UNO recognized the Genocide; the same did the European Parliament. In 2004 Slovakia also recognized the Armenian Genocide, besides there is a law that issues the denial of Genocide as a criminal fact.”- said Stefan Harabin.
The president of Armenian court of Appeals Arman Mkrtumyan informed that Harabin was awarded by Mkhitar Gosh medal for the cooperation between Armenian and Slovakian supreme courts, for the work done in exchange of experience as well as the promotion of the law inserting criminal responsibility for denying Armenian Genocide. “This is our second meeting. We have made agreements on programs for the third meeting.” Mkrtumyan mentioned that they visited the court of First Instance in Gyumri, which was announced the best this year.
