To date there are 31 seismic stations in Azerbaijan which are not enough for the investigation of seismic situation in the territory of the country, announced the head of Republican seismic center Gurban Etirmishli during press conference.
According to his words only in US state California there are 2000 seismic stations. “Azerbaijan is seismically endangered zone, where at any moment an earthquake may take place. That’s why serious investigation must be carried out.”- added Etirmishli. He noted that more than 5 active zones exist in Azerbaijan and the cause of recent quakes is great amount of energy deep in ground.
