The “Republic” party member Suren Abragamyan’s words became a reson for different news agencies to write that if the second president of the republic of Armenia, Robert Qocharyan runs his candidacy one may think of supporting Serzh Sargsyan. This statement reached up to accusations that once the party urged to go to streets and now claims to be Serzh Sargsyan’s proponent.
In the interview with Aravot.am, Suren Abrahamyan explained: “To tell the truth I want to explain everything not as deliberately said but as misunderstanding.” In order to clear out everything, Mr. Abrahamyan stressed: “We have already made an official announcement that “Republic” party will not enter into deal with any party till December. The assembly of the party will decide whether we will run our candidacy or will support any oppositional candidate.”
Anyhow, Aravot.am asked to mention whether Mr. Abrahamyan had really made such a statement that it is not excluded that “Republic” party will support Serzh Sargsyan’s candidacy. He totally denied such fact and advised to watch the video one more time.
