Official sources report that Georgia and the EU signed two financial documents in the framework of cooperation. Minister of Georgia on European integration Tornike Gordadze signed two financial agreements amounting 23 million Euros on behalf of the State according to the plan of action in 2011.
This is – Sector Policy Support Program to help internally displaced persons and host communities – 19 million Euros, the program of peace settlement – four million Euros.
The head of the EU Delegation to Georgia Philip Dimitrov was present at the signing ceremony. Head of the Directorate for Development and Cooperation Commission Markus Cornaro has already signed the documents on behalf of the European Commission in Brussels.
According to the information this program is aimed to secure the long-term refugee housing and poverty extenuation project.
In the framework of the peace settlement program measures to reestablish the confidence of the population induced by the conflict, to improve basic infrastructure and housing, and foster the generation of income are ensured.
