Eduard Sharmazanov, vice-president of NA, spokesman of Republican party, today, October 9, had a press conference and talked about Oskanian’s case and the upcoming presidential elections.
“In Armenia there is no political persecution against any politician. Everything that was done against Oskanian was done according the law. I don’t like the phrase that you are using, as if Oskanian’s case had political motivations. There is no such thing in Armenia. What concerns the upcoming elections and Oskanian’s announcements that PAP will nominate its own candidate, I can comment only on facts. I can recall that officially PAP announced in 2011 that it will support Serzh Sargsyan, after this announcement no other official announcement have not been made so I can’t comment on them. Serzh Sargsyan will certainly win the elections. Even if PAP won’t support us, Sargsyan will win. Tsarukyan may be the second, but he can’t be our next president. ”
