PAP MP Vardan Oskanian said that his party should represent a separate candidate in the elections, “first of all, the candidate must be the party leader Gagik Tsarukyan”.
“I can say the following about PAP representing its own candidate. Firstly, the party has not made an official decision on this issue yet. So what I will tell is my personal point of view. Taking into account that PAP has a reputation of a strong party and people have great expectations from it, I think that it should represent its own candidate at the presidential election. Naturally, the candidate must be first of all the party leader Gagik Tsarukyan. But if he will not want to nominate his candidacy, and the party will support me I am ready to take that responsibility.”
To the question whether there will be more pressure against Tsarukyan, the party and him in that case, Oskanian said that the issue should perceived in terms of the interests of the country. “Armenia will only benefit from the participation of the PAP, people will have a real choice, and international community will see us as a way of holding a real democracy in the country,” he said.
Recall that On September 15, during a press conference PAP MP Vahan Babayan said that Tsarukyan is a politician with the highest ratings. This was followed by survey results of sociologist Aharon Adibekyan, according to which 30.4% of the respondents see the PAP leader Gagik Tsarukyan as a candidate in the RA presidential election.
