On October 8, the President of the National Assembly Hovik Abrahamyan received the FRG Bundestag of Germany-South Caucasus Parliamentary Group Chairman Wolfgang Beurnsen. During the meeting they discussed Armenian-German relations and regional issues. Both sides stressed the need to deepen cooperation in all areas.
The two sides noted with gratification the recent inter-exchange and activation of interface, highlighted the cooperation between the two parliaments and friendly contacts between the groups. They also touched upon the “International Parliamentary Scholarship” program, which operates in Armenia since 1998 and gives positive results. During these years many students intern at the Bundestag and successfully apply their knowledge in various fields. Note that in the next year, there is an agreement between the two parliaments that German students will have chance to practice in the parliament of Armenia.
They also discussed other issues of mutual interest at the meeting.
