Georgian troops will remain in Afghanistan

“The priority will be improving our country’s defense capability and increasing fighting efficiency of our military units. All professionals will be preserved, not a single officer will be lost. Many left the ministry because of the current leadership. We will get them back. The second, which is also very important, is to analyze the reasons for our military failures. The country has not made similar analysis for the past 20 years”, candidate for Georgia’s Minister of Defense Irakli Alasani told this today briefing to journalists on Georgia withdrawing troops from Afghanistan. In Alasania’s words Georgia will not withdraw its troops from Afghanistan and the Georgian servicemen will stay there until the end of the mandate.
