After a long illness famous composer Edward Mirzoyan passed away.
Modern composer, educator, musical and public figure, People’s Artist of the USSR (1981), Eduard Mirzoyan was born in 1921, in Georgian city of Gori. He was a Professor since 1965; in the period 1956-1990 he was president of the Union of Composers of Armenia.
The well-known works of Eduard Mirzoyan are: “They say that …”, “I Dream”, “Fatherland is calling”, “Symphonic Dances”, “Holiday prelude”, he also wrote music for films- “When friends are with you”, “Sunny Day”, “Aksorakan No. 001”.
