According to preliminary data, “Georgian Dream” opposition coalition wins Sunday’s parliamentary elections, both by proportional and majority systems.
According to the CEC, the opposition wins in 38 regions and the ruling party “United National Movement” party – in 35. Consequently, the opposition forms a stable majority in Parliament.
Representatives of “Georgian Dream” have announced that they are ready to form a new government, headed by their leader Bidzina Ivanishvilii. On Wednesday they announced the creation of coalition’s groups, which will hold negotiations for power, in order to secure the order.
Ivanishvilin announced that his first visit after the elections will be to Washington, but no congratulation has been received from Moscow.
