Former Vice President of the National Assembly, former ANC member Karapet Rubinyan, speaking about the case of depriving Oskanian of the parliamentary mandate, noted that his attitude is very negative, due to his affected role during March 1st events.
At the same time he thinks that the political persecution is being implemented over him. “I have no doubt that, if Oskanian stayed on Serzh Sarkisian’s, then he, like many others, will be forgiven for worse things than is now condemned for,” said Karapet Rubinyan, adding that it is obvious that everything is done to save the name of “Prosperous Armenia” in the minds of citizens as an opposition force. Rubinyan does not rule out the possibility that in this process Oskanian is a plaything.
Mr. Rubinyan also commented on the statement that Oskanian was always perceived as a figure with Western views. “When we look at his activities, you cannot see any American thing during his tenure. What pro-Western works has he done being a foreign minister? Viewing his activities one can say that he was more of a Soviet type careerist, a placeman figure in his position.”
