Robert Kocharyan (second president of Armenia) made an announcement concerning Oskanian’s case:
“I carefully got acquainted with the “case” which was against Vartan Oskanian, our former MFA, and I couldn’t find the main question, why National Security Service is involved in the cooperation between John Huntsman and Oskanian’s “Civilitans” foundation?
The decision made by National Assembly will affect country’s future. They act against our country and instead of solving major problems they condemn a person who is very honorable and honest. A politician like Oskanian could help our country, since such political figures are few in Armenia. He has been honest before, and he is like that now. Moreover, he is a representative of a political party (PAP) which has a great support from our nation.
This whole, nonsense story, is very disappointing. I’m really sorry for what has happened and I express my sympathy and support to Oskanian ” said Kocharyan.
