A new scandal is escalating between “Heritage” party headed by Raffi Hovhannisyan and “Free Democrats” party headed by Khachatur Qoqobelyan. Yesterday “Haykakan Zhamanak” informed that the leader of “Heritage” had announced in the press conference that there was an agreement with Qoqobelyan that after the former’s mandate renouncement, the latter will also do the same.
Earlier “Heriatge” convened a session where, according to “HZh”, they discussed the question of taking back Raffi Hovhannisyan’s solicitation to renounce the mandate. Yesterday the daily tried to ascertain the news from the deputy head of “Heritage” administration, NA “Heritage” fraction head Ruben Hakobyan.
The daily inquired about the future actions of “Heritage”, because Qoqobelyan broke the agreement with Raffi Hovhannisyan to renounce their mandates, whereas “Free Democrats” deny the existence of such an agreement. Referring to the press secretary’s urges to wait until Qoqobelyan arrives, Hakobyan added nothing. The deputy head wasn’t aware where Qoqobelyan had left for.
To the observation why in such hot political phase of RA Qoqobelayn decided to be absent, when the issue of lifting the immunity of PAP MP Vartan Oskanian through chief prosecutor’s mediation, who is said to be in close terms with Qoqobelyan, Ruben Hakobyan again urged to wait until Qoqobelyan arrives to get the right answers.
Will Stepan Safatyan return to NA?
Hakobyan didn’t answer any other question. MP from “Heritage” fraction, member of “Free Domcrats” Alexander Arzoumanyan didn’t answer either.
According to the information of “HZh” Khachatur Qoqobelyan is in the USA. He accounted his leaving by health problems. It is strange that he chose the very days of chief prosecutor’s mediation. Actually he was in quite difficult situation- on one hand good terms with chief prosecutor Aghvan Hovsepyan, on the other hand his being a representative of the opposition. Anyhow it is said that he will be back on October 6th and will have to give explanations on his absence and on Raffi Hovhannisyan’s announcement.
Will Safaryan return to NA? “HZh” had informed months earlier that “Heritage” has an aim to bring Stepan Safaryan to NA, as the only pure “Hertiage” member in NA is Zaruhi Postanjyan. For him to enter NA 3 MPs must present self-renouncements as he is the 8th in the list. After Raffi Hovhannisyan, the other 2 must be Qoqobelyan and Ayvazyan from “Free Democrats” party, who actually refuse to do so.
