U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Richard Morningstar, at meeting in Baku with president of SOCAR company Rovnag Abdullayev, said that SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) has an important role in development of oil-gas sector, as Azerbaijan has great development in all sectors in recent years.
During the meeting SOCAR president Abdullayev welcomed the guest and congratulated with the beginning of diplomatic activity. He noted that Morningstar is an experienced diplomat who knows a lot about energy issues, intimately familiar with the situation in the region, and wished him success in his new position. Morningstar confidently say that range of activities of SOCAR expands and company will be strengthened in the global market.
SOCAR president said that Azerbaijan can play a big role in the energy security of Europe as well informed about the progress in the implementation of the South Gas Corridor project and the development of activities in this field.
