Minister of Culture does not consider it appropriate to dismiss fiction literature from the value added tax. This was stated by the Minister in response to the PAP deputy MIkael Melkonyan.
“Children’s literature and artistic literature in terms of content are very important for the culture, but they are in the business sector nowadays. And in this sense, I do not find it expedient, “said the minister, noting that, unlike fiction, scientific literature is not sold in the bookstores.
The minister added that they had long discussions with the interested circles in the Ministry of Finance and in the Government, examining the entire chain of value added tax, but they still refrain from making changes.
