The foreign Ministry of Hungary has proposed to restore diplomatic relations without any preconditions. Hungarian government website reported that on September 24 Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs sent a note to Armenia’s Foreign Ministry proposing to end the unilateral termination of diplomatic relations without any preconditions.
It was also written that the diplomatic note was an official response to the message from Armenia dated August 31, 2012, on the suspension of diplomatic relations with Hungary.
Recall that on February 19, 2004 in Budapest the Azerbaijani officer Ramil Safarov brutally killed sleeping Armenian officer Gourgen Margaryan, for which he was sentenced to life imprisonment by a Hungarian court. Hungarian government on August 31, 2012 extradited Safarov, who was immediately released in Azerbaijan. On the same day Armenia suspended diplomatic relations with Hungary.
