Today the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Territorial Administration Armen Gevorgyan received the head of the Armenian office of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Karen Hilliard. The meeting was also attended by U.S. Ambassador John Heffern.
First of all Deputy Prime Minister congratulated Ms. Hilliard assuming the mission and expressed hope that the effective interaction with USAID will continue.
The parties referred to the recent local elections. The Deputy Prime Minister said that they were organized in calm conditions, on the existing legislation and international standards.
Deputy Prime Minister expressed gratification for USAID’s support from “CPI” organization in the “Civil society and local government assistance program”.
Karen Hilliard in her turn has expressed willingness to continue effective interaction, noting that the level of political and economic development initiatives in the next five years will be included in USAID programs.
