Responding to the Russian side accuse Georgia’s president Saakashvili noted that Georgia’s government’s response to prison abuse showed Georgia to be more democratic than Russia itself. Recall that earlier Russian side had accused Georgian government for disability to protect the rights of its citizens. Speaking at the UN General Assembly Saakashvili noted Russia fearing from Georgia to become a possible model for other states in the region. “Even the way, how we reacted, to the prison scandal we had recently, in Russia these things happen almost every day…and nobody gives a damn there about it”, stated Saakashvili.
